So it begins... my tertiary education.

So had my first day of uni today, left the house at around 9am and arrived back home at 920pm.. dat 6 hour gap between lectures =/
well... ECON1101 was cool, basically HSC economics for the first half of the course. When typing up notes, I actually substituted the lecturer's examples with Starcraft:
"Opportunity cost: The value of the next best alternative to taking a particular action. What you give up.
Example: Producing 4 zealots instead of 3 dragoons. You give up the ability to produce 3 dragoons."
Alternatively, you can use Magic: The Gathering analogies to explain economic concepts such as elasticity of demand and supply.
One of the many advantages of playing SC and MTG ^_^

But.. after playing (and winning) a game of Scrabble while eating pizza at the White House, I went to city and played LoL for 3 games before coming back for ECON1203- Business and Economic Statistics.. Yes, it is as boring as it sounds Urghh... didnt have any lecture buddies in there at  all =[ and the topic itself sounds so bloody boring although the lecturer really does try her best to make it seem fun...

Oh yeah, had a 3 day camp at Collaroy. Being one of the few non-Christians there, it was quite.. odd at some moments. And there were alot more Christian activities than I had expected D= To be honest, it really did not bring me any closer to accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior LOLOLOL... But did get to hang out with some cool people, did some fun activities such as rock climbing and laser tag and stayed up all night to watch the beautiful sunrise along the beach:
That's actually the wallpaper on my phone at the moment. Not bad for my phone's 5MP camera

UPDATE for Tuesday:
Uhh.. yeah. Went to only one lecture today (MGMT1001) and initially thought I was going to be foreveralone there until I saw Nathan and Fred too :) such a lazy/easy/joke subject.. you get 20% just for attending tutes/doing homework =D but not as much of a joke as SCIF..

Also drank a bottle of cider after the lecture. I think I enjoy my cider a little too much :) never had more than 2 or 3 in one day but still... 27 year old Peter (I might want to give him a nickname.. Peter V2.7?)  is going to have some real problems controlling his drinking habit considering he's probably going to have ALOT of disposable income to spend LOL...

...

OKAY: I think it's time to set some goals for this semester. In order of importance:
1. Get good marks (atleast a Distinction average) by revising regualrly and putting in the hours.
2. Improve my interpersonal/social skills by trying new things/meeting new people
3. Finally get a job by.. actually applying..
4.. Eat less unhealthy food and summon up the courage to convince my parents to pay for a year's worth of gym fees so I can become fully sick =D
5. Limit my LoL games to on average 3 a day (so 21 per week max).. sounds like alot but considering I have no job and a 4 day weekend, it's going to be pretty hard.

An update about O-week and the future

So.. went O-week today... and yesterday. Was great, got heaps of free stuff. drank some really nice apple cider and received a free t-shirt. Oh yeah, also got a bunch of cityhunter vouchers so now I can play without worrying about money.
Apart from the fun stuff, I also went to the official welcome for the ASB which lasted like 3 hours..
So... many.... asians LOL.
But yeah, that did get me thinking about what I'll be doing in 5, 10, 20 years.. Would I be able to get a good job? If I do, would I be just another soul less face in a suit, making heaps of money doing a job I hate, like millions of others before me?  Honestly, I can't answer that, and that's quite bad.

So here's a message to my 27 year old self:

Dear awesome future Peter,
You should have kept on going to the gym consistently, so by now you should have a great physique and be able to squat at least 100 kilograms. You also should have moved out of home by now,be on 6 figures and be dating a great cook who knows how to make good pasta. Hopefully, you're not an alcoholic (although at this rate, I doubt that very much)... but if you are one, well... shit, get some help bro. And please don't take up smoking or use of any other harmful and addictive substances.. and I really really hope you haven't committed any serious crimes. That would be very disappointing. I also hope you're still wearing the Seiko watch I'm wearing as I type this, it should still be going strong in 2022.

But whatever, the things above are quite superficial. Above all else, I just hope you're in a (preferably well paid) job you don't hate doing, and still have all your current friends and dear family around. Oh, and if you are planning to have a kid, consider naming him Bruce, middle name Wayne. And teach him the importance of justice and let him learn MMA or Krav Maga so he can be Batman =D If you've matured enough to know that that idea was bad, well... Harry or William are pretty cool names.

Yours sincerely,
Current, less awesome Peter

Whatever, with that aside, here are some random phone photos:
Got a new phone :D ooooh yeah
Those birdy things at UNSW. One day I'll catch one and roast it.
O-week
My free stuff from O-week by the end of day one (except the bottle)
Just the food I got by the end of day two
Well... that's all for his week. Have a 3 day camp starting Friday and then uni on Monday so I'll probably post another update then :) Toodles.

First world problems

So yeah, basically my weekly routine now consists of gym/spa/lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (sometimes with youth group). That leaves Tuesdays and Thursdays as "empty" days where there's nothing planned and sometimes nothing to do at all.. which means LoL and CoD all day at home =( sad.....

So... what do on those empty days when there's nothing happening because people decide to stay at home? One of the great mysteries of the universe...

Now to a rant:
Urgh, do you ever get those times where you NEED human contact every few hours to feel normal, like... say after a month of being in a hole away from civilised society? Yeah, it sucks that I feel like this now =/ WHYYYYY do I feel so down just doing what I normally do?!?! Arghhh, I feel slightly pathetic even mentioning this on my blog but whatever.

Lol, I imagine that this is how forever-alones develop. You sit in a room playing computer games all day and... yeah.

Oh yeah, another thing, went fishing at Botany Bay on my uncle's boat from like 6pm to 930pm. Caught 5 fish, that's like less than one every half hour LOL. Everyone else caught at least 10. Oh wells, it was fun so I took one photo. The boat was allowed to carry nine people but there were only 5 that day so it was even better :D
Post-blog post update: Meh, I'll probably either go to the bank to deposit money or just stay at home and game later today (since its like 1am). feelsbadman.jpg

Back in Oz

Yay, feels great to be back home :D
.. so we left Vietnam in the morning of January 29, caught a short flight to Singapore (you can see the whole country from the air.. it's hard to imagine such a tiny country being so powerful in terms of its economic influence) and went outside, caught a taxi and went around sightseeing.

The first thing you notice is how clean it is compared to Vietnam, where people would regularly throw their trash onto the road and spit on the footpath... disgusting. Compared to Singapore, where you don't see trash on the street at all. Another thing you notice is how cheap the things in Singapore are compared to Australia, another wealthy country. Like, an easyway-type drink only costs around AU$1 over there, and clothes/gear at full price is probably atleast 20% cheaper than the same things at full price in Australia despite Australia having a lower GDP/capita. Hmm... maybe we're just getting ripped off hard by the stores.

So after walking around and checking out the stores for quite a long time, we took the MRT back to Changi Airport and left for Melbourne and then Sydney. Ugh, feel so bad about writing a simple, boring recount instead of a "real" blog post =/

Ah wells, here are some pictures:
Massive traffic jam. Took 3 hours to cross a bridge..
Leaving the hole known as Vietnam
Fine dining... this shit cost $14....
Around Singapore

iPad on flight to Melbourne :D

So... yeah. Feels awesome to be back. Lifted weights for the first time in over a month on Tuesday. Struggled alot with the 60kg squat which was pretty easy before, ended up feeling unusually weak and vomited after about an hour of working out =[ Oh wells, it was probably just the sudden "shock" of intense physical activity after a month of laziness.
