Braces off! :D *edit*

Uhhh.. so as the title says... got mah braces off today. Surprisingly did not hurt at all and you get this nice feeling when you run your tongue along the front of your teeth.
So.... 2 years, $6k-ish has led up to this. Worth it? Totally. Well.. my teeth weren't totally fucked up but they were noticeably crooked and bumpy =/
But yeah, now they're awesome, straight and not bumpy =D Maybe it's only the incredibly self-conscious and shallow part of me that's happy but whatever, still cool.
...
In other news, I've started using my laptop for uni and taking notes with Evernote. I'm not even sure why I'm doing this, maybe I should be using OneNote instead... Really can't be stuffed using pen and paper.
Ah... asian parents.

So yeah... teeth are all good now.
Next steps: fix mah dry skin and get to 65kg bodyweight.
*yes, I'm a shallow, self-consious fuck.*

Catching up

So I was going to write this post a week ago but I couldn't be bothered so I'll write it now....

I have a dream. I have a dream that one day, the Olympics will come back to its roots in Ancient Greece.
..
Imagine this. It's an Olympic sport which is basically gladiator combat. Every nation selects one person (can be ANYONE, male/female, 50kg/150kg) to compete against other nations' fighters. I imagine it to be on a large football pitch, or in the stadium where the opening ceremony is held.
Like this without weapons and armour

So yeah, you've got 200 or so of each nation's best fighter in a giant arena. What now? They beat the crap out of each other until there is only one fighter remaining, with everyone else being removed from the arena due to injury or an arbiter's decision.

Oh yeah, about those arbiters (referees). They'll be stationed around the arena, being clearly identifiable with flouro shirts or something. They remove fighters who are getting dominated too hard from the fight.

Rules of "Gladiators"
-You can do anything you want except to arbiters and fighters in their care.
That's it.

Oh man.. Imagine the spectacle. 200 of the world's best fighters beating the crap out of each other for the glory of the nation. *drools at sheer awesomeness*

These batman pictures don't relate to what I'm saying in any way. I just like them :3

....

Okay, enough of my barbaric fantasies and back to real life.
So yeah, I've dropped ECON1202 (quantitative analysis) and picked up MATH1131. Went to tutorial, it was...... complex numbers. LOL. And out of the class of about 16, there was one girl. Must have sucked to be the only girl in the class.

......
dat m/f ratio of 15 =.=

But moving along, yes. So now I'm doing a subject where I'm 4 weeks behind on content.
So... goal for the weekend:
Catch up.

Peter... accountant/analyst....... engineer?

Hello there to whoever is bothered enough to still read my blog :)
Another life update:
My family just got bigpond ultimate cable installed today. The result:
And that's for the laptop. The desktop is even higher ^^ Like insanely fast, 9 ping and 37mbps :)

And yeah.. I'm starting to dislike the ECON part of my degree. I don't know, it's just... meh. Like for my accounting and finance courses, you actually interact with others and discuss problems together... that's what I actually enjoy.
Whereas in ECON1202 and ECON1102, it's alot more depressing. Do homework, come into class and watch teacher explain the questions/concepts for 55 minutes and then leave. There's not much to discuss anyway, so no one bothers talking (including me).

Also, I'm concerned about putting all my eggs in one basket as far as job prospects go. Like, economics and commerce are pretty much the same area in terms of industry so if the financial sector goes down the shitter, GG.

So that's why I'm considering doing engineering. So let's list pros and cons:

Advantages:
-There's a current shortage of engineers
-I like being in a class where you work with others rather than sit there and watch passively
-They get paid big money, refer to first point
-I'm pretty decent at maths and physics

Disadvantages:
-Adds an extra 1.5 years to my degree and 9k in debt (grand total is like 46k =/ )
-Total sausage-fest. Like the m/f ratio is insanely high. not around 1:1 in comm.
-Not as easy as some comm subjects

So yeah... we'll see.
